As part of the Graphic Design Projects course at BAU, University Centre of Arts and Design of Barcelona, I embarked on a unique experiment that merged biology, design, and the city of Barcelona into a single project: Samples of Barcelona.
The project was driven by curiosity and a desire to explore how different environments interact with everyday materials. I began with a simple circular piece of cardboard, which I strategically placed in various locations across Barcelona—streets, art studios, bathrooms, tables, walls, floors, and more.

Each location became a part of my field of research, contributing its own unique influence on the cardboard over time. After a period, I returned to collect these circles, each now imprinted with a piece of Barcelona's essence.
The result was a series of petri dishes containing these collected samples, visually documenting how the environment shaped and transformed the material.
